Bucharest, 27-28 June 2022

Useful Informations

Transportation from the airport to the Caro Hotel

Variant 1

Licensed taxis without prior request, with fares between 1.89 lei/km and 3.5 lei/km, will be available for passengers arriving at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport. These cars will be situated in a taxi station located at the exit of the terminal and will take passengers in order of arrival.

The touch screen terminals for taxi requests will still be available for customers who want to order a taxi from a certain company.

Approaching customers, both by taxi drivers and by middlemen, is sanctioned by taxi law (Law 38/2003). Any violation of the law in the airport area shall be handled by the Transport Police (phone number: +4021 201 3242).

Variant 2

Use Uber or Bolt if you have one of these applications installed.

Variant 3

Using the hotel shuttle buses. To book such a shuttle bus, it is necessary to contact the hotel 24 h in advance. Fees are 18 euros for 1 person, 10 euros per person for 2 persons, and 14 euros per person for 3-6 persons. When booking, the hotel needs to know the day of your arrival, the time of landing, the flight number, your name, and your phone.

Transportation from the hotel to downtown

Use Uber or Bolt if you have one of these applications installed or use public transportation - the metro is the best choice. The station Aurel Vlaicu is located at 10 min walking distance from the hotel. You have to go down at the station Universitate or Piata Unirii, depending on what would you like to visit.

Free time in Bucharest

For those arriving in advance and having time to visit Bucharest, our suggestions are the Village Museum, the National Art Museum, Zambaccian Museum, The National History Museum of Romania

For Sunday evening, our recommendation is to go to the Urban Fountains (metro station Piata Unirii) to listen to and watch the Water Symphony.  It starts at 9.30.

Other suggestions for walking around may be found at https://www.seebucharest.ro/

Travel to Romania given the Ukraine situation

Romania is safe and hospitable. The unfortunate situation in the Ukraine does not threaten to destabilize Romania.

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Like many countries in the world, Romania is being affected by the Covid-19 situation. The National Centre for monitoring and control of transmissible diseases and the local health authorities are monitoring the situation closely.

All Covid restrictions have been lifted but public health recommendations are:

  • to wear a mask when in indoor crowded spaces;
  • follow public institutions and business companies own mask wearing requirements.

Restaurants and entertainment/ recreation facilities operate at full capacity.

Visitors and residents arriving to Romania from any country in the world do not need to present proof of vaccination (complete scheme) or a negative RT-PCT test.

The requirement to complete a Passenger Locator Form / Declaration has been voided.

All visitors will still need to comply with any testing requirements imposed by airlines and/or government of the country of departure (and transit).

The most up-to-date information concerning border-crossing / entry-requirements and conditions are available from your airline and/ or the nearest Consulate of Romania.

To get additional info, 'customized' based on your nationality you might also want to check the SkyTeam International Traveler Entry-Requirements Tool
